Centamin sees Sukari Gold output at 320,000 oz this year
Centamin also forecasts cash operating cost to climb $700 per ounce with fuel at international prices.
Canada's Centamin said it expects gold production from the flagship Sukari mine to hit 320,000 ounces this year.
According to the Egypt focused miner, this would be 22% higher than the production delivered in 2012 and would mark the third successive year of output growth at Sukari on the path towards its long-term target of 450-500,000 ounces per annum from 2015 onwards.
Centamin also forecasts cash operating cost to climb $700 per ounce with fuel at international prices.
The miner says the stage 4 expansion project has experienced some delays for key items, materials and services and it now anticipates the bulk of commissioning activities of the expanded plant will commence during the second half of 2013.
Centamin says there is no change to its expectation that the plant will be fully operational before the end of the year.
Centamin adds: "Partly as a result of these delays, as well as general cost inflation, our estimate for the total capital cost of stage 4 is now $325m, including contingency, as compared with the previous $287.6m, excluding contingency."
